Useful information for travellers
For your own safety, when you plan a group outing, you have to make sure that you are in compliance with the laws with respect to bus transportation; for more information, visit the Association des propriétaires d’autobus du Québec (APAQ) Web site.
The maximum on-duty time for a driver is 13 hours of driving a 15 hour of continuous work shift.
You must supply a detailed itinerary of your trip, one week before departure for that trip.
If you must stop along the way for a meal, make sure you made reservations at that restaurant before leaving, so that your stop will not be too long.
If you are making a long trip, plan stops every 3 hours to enable passengers to refresh and the driver to rest a bit; these stops can even make use of rest areas.
If you are planning a trip to the United States, ensure all passengers have photo identification (driver’s licence, health insurance card) a passport; this will save time at the border with the tightened security measures put in place since 2001.
